1964                GUIDO RICCI was born in Rome

1979                Started his experience as an amateur photographer when he has got his

                        first camera.

1989-1992       He was employed in a Company but his love for photography soon gets

                        the upper hand.

1993-1997       He studied at ISF ISTITUTO SUPERIORE DI FOTOGRAFIA based in

                        Rome and in these years he was attracted and fascinated by the

                        mathematical rigorous technique of Ansel Adams photography.

                        During this period he starts to work and study on analogical black and

                        white pictures organizing his own darkroom

1998                Started his cooperation with Sotheby’s and Christie’s (two of the most

                        important Auction houses), working on a large format reproduction

                        photography for Auction catalogues; thanks to these experiences he became

                        a photographer for works of art, furnitures, jewels and pictures.

1998-2001       He worked at John Casablancas modeling and Career Centers in Rome

                        as a teacher for Photography and photographic modeling. At the same

                        time he collaborates with various photographic studios and Fashion

                        Agencies, producing photographic books and portraits for Cinema and

                        Theatre actors.

2002-2011      He carried on his activity in the fields of Fashion Photography, Graphic

                       Advertising (that is a new and interesting experience), and pictures for

                       artistic and commercial catalogues. Meanwhile he got closer to the art of

                       the greatest past  painters  and Guido’s photography changed combining

                       images of everyday life with the old master painting  techniques.

                      

                       In these years Guido Ricci takes part of several  photographic and art

                       exhibitions, one of the most important is the presence of one of his

                       works  at the “Biennale di Venezia”  in Turin from the 18th of December

                       2011 to the 31st January 2012.

At present  he looks at the elegance  hidden between lights and shadows, between the extreme rigorous techniques into one side and the total simplicity into the other.
